Course Outline:

Day 1:

• Registration and course introduction.
• Introduction to Ultrasound Scanning.
• Physiology of reproduction and pregnancy - dissection.

Day 2:

• Anatomy of the bovine pelvic region.
• Operator hygiene and disease control.
• Animal welfare and cattle handling.
• Scanning - practical demonstration.
• Hands-on scanning practice.

Day 3:

• Theory and physics of ultrasound.
• Equipment description and demonstration: machine controls, maintenance, and safety.
• Timing of scanning and system limitations.
• Record keeping.
• Paraprofessionals and the law.
• Practical scanning exercises.

Day 4:

• Final scanning practice and oral assessment.
• Written paper examination.

Certification Requirements:

• Successful completion of the full training course.
• Proficiency demonstrated in the practical and oral examination.
• Passing the written paper at the course's conclusion.
